The St. Louis Diversity Job Fair is primarily designed to obtain summer associate positions for rising 2Ls (current 1Ls) during their second summer in law school (Summer 2018). A limited number of employers also wish to interview rising 3Ls (graduating class of 2019) for entry level associate positions which will start after they take the bar examination.
On Friday, August 18, 2017, there will be a series of dinners at St. Louis area restaurants where students will have the opportunity to network with area attorneys and judges (who are not interviewers) for tips on school, job hunting and the practice of law. This will be a rare opportunity to the pick the brain of a local attorney on the St. Louis legal community in a small intimate group setting.
Once students sign-up for the job fair, they will be assigned to a small group for dinner.
Tenth Annual Employer and Law Student St. Louis Diversity Job Fair Luncheon:
When: Saturday, August 19, 2017
Time: 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Employers will have the opportunity to pre-select 100% of their interview schedule. With pre-selection, an employer is assured of meeting with those students it considers most promising among those students expressing an interest in that particular employer. If there are any open slots in an employers schedule due to scheduling conflicts or student cancellations, then these slots will be filled at random based on student bidding. Interviews will be conducted in private rooms set up in the host law firm office space.
Once a student registers for the Fair, they will be given information regarding participating employers’ hiring criteria, offices/cities for which each employer is interviewing, and J.D. year(s) required by the employer. Students have the opportunity to submit their resume to 22 employers.
The resumes are then collected by the Job Fair committee. All resumes of students who wish to interview with your firm/organization will be forwarded to your contact person. (Please keep these resumes, as additional copies will not be provided). Employers are asked to pre-select 16 students with whom they wish to interview. With pre-selection, an employer is assured of meeting those students it considers most promising among the students expressing an interest in that particular employer. Employers are also asked to select 5 alternates.
Any slots that are not filled due to schedule conflicts or student cancellations will be filled through the employer alternate selections.
